This channel aims to promote wildlife and environmental issues using photographs, videos and slide shows in the hope that some people may benefit from my experience as a professional photographer for more than 30 years. During this time I have published two wildlife photo books, most recently From Sunrise To Sunshine, which contains more than 150 of my Maasai Mara safari photographs, 40 of which have won awards, including two from Natures Best, sponsored by the Smithsonian. I was Irish Professional Wildlife Photographer of the Year in 2017.

Thank you for sharing, Michael; found it very interesting.👍👍 It reminded me of my father-in-law sharing his story as a WW2 German POW with local grade school students studying WW2. For some reason, he shared very little of that time in his life with his family. I am honored that I was present at some of his remembrances. We shared a soldier bond, which is not understood by many non-service members.

Lovely video and thanks for all the great work. Weir at Balrothery though? Surely you mean Firhouse Weir or at the very least the City Weir as it was originally called. People from Balrothery are more than welcome to come over to Firhouse to look at the weir though, as it can’t be seen from the Balrothery side of the river. From that side it could only be called the Balrothery “Weir did the river go?”
Thanks for watching and commenting, Mick. I really appreciate it. As far as the name goes I have said many times when I've included clips of the weir that I don't care what people call it. All three names are acceptable. I've seen all three names used in different places. Even the National Museum calls it Balrothery Weir, so I did use the name on purpose, not by mistake. I hope this answers your question.

Michael, I love your wildlife pictures and slideshows. You captured such detail that I feel that I was right with you when you captured the images.
